The Inherent Darkness of Mankind

There is an inherent darkness in the mind of every human being. It hides and bides its time and comes out suddenly at times when you'd least expect it. Like that time your best friend said something cruel in a tone that could NEVER have been a joke. Or that time you spite someone not because you're feeling all righteous, but because you enjoy it. There is an inherent darkness within us all that could lead us to spill innocent blood, emotionally scar someone for pleasure, or end our lives in an instance. Yes, I believe that it's that dark streak that leads to suicide. For is it not the ultimate act of darkness, of cruelty, to end your own life? I believe that every one of us, given the right circumstances, would kill another person. And that though although we may do it out of fear or for self-defense, that inherent bit of darkness will come out at that moment and lash out with glee to see the life of that person drained, their blood drained, their last breath sucked out from their lungs in one long rattling whistle. The inherent darkness knows no conscience, it knows no remorse. It does not need to be fed, it lives and bides its time, and when needed it will call itself forth with power and fearsomeness that is unrivaled.
I was sitting in an exam and I wrote down a few random and weird dark thoughts that flitted through my mind:

Clouds crumble to dust with blackness within
Colors fade from bright to dull
Saying wind their way down a long cold road
Endless fear kept untold

Keep some misery in a jar
End the stupor of joy and light
Killers are but lively wanderers
Set on a sudden path with a purpose

Death a cloud of shrouding mist
Held in hand like delicate wings
Swoop down and take in a soft silent flutter
And put to sleep tiny things...
